Vintage lens repair / cleaning

Hello. I have a 50mm 1.4 Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 8 element lens that I'd like someone to look at. Some unidentifiable markings on one of the rear elements, clustered near the rim, maybe mold but I don't know. Can anyone recommend where I can send it? I called Ricoh 'Precision' and got a rather rude response from whoever picked up the phone. Thanks.

Hi, Julian.

Eric Hendrickson is well known on this site as being a Pentax repair wizard: Home-Pentaxs
I've also seen good things said about Advance Camera: Advance Camera Repair | Camera repair, sales + service in Portland, OR

And if you can upload a photo of the problem, there are knowledgeable members here who may be able to help with a diagnosis.

Are the markings inside or on the outside of the rear element? Any cleaning here must be done with extreme care or the integrity of the element's finish will be compromised (it is already a very old lens to start with). Fungal infection that is left in situ will etch into the glass over time, which means that even though it may be removed on the surface, the etching remains.
