Pentax LX flaking problem

I'm getting a Pentax LX ready to use and have had trouble with black flecks appearing
on my mirror from inside the camera. Anyone else seen this? Will a CLA take care of it?

Hi Lloyd, and welcome

The black flecks are most likely from mirror buffer foam which degrades over time. A complete service of the camera will usually include this, but you might specifically request that this is included.

The LX is well known for having foam bumpers that dry out and fall apart or that just turn into goo.
A CLA that includes replacing all the foam in the mirror box will cure your problem.
