That's some divine distilling power, that is. No wonder we're struggling to disinfect everything, with them nicking all our ethanol.

My understanding is that the angel’s share is around two percent of the total liquid in the barrel, here's the formula.

When I heard it, it was per annum. Assuming 2 percent is that figure, it would be more like 25-30% after 18 years.

Aye you quite correct it is per annum, in warmer and more humid locations it is a higher percentage.

Particularly of the high % type of dram. At least no one has yet claimed to see the pink elephants on the loch.
