Replacing Light Seals & Mirror Cushions in a Pentax K2
Hello camera people. I've long been interested in film photography, and was lucky enough to inherit my granddad's Pentax K2 in impeccable condition with the exception of its original light seals and mirror cushions, which have disintegrated. I ordered a light seal kit for K series cameras from USCamera, but the kit only comes with a single replacement for the mirror cushion, and the K2 appears to have had a cushion along each side of the focusing screen. I contacted USCamera about it, and was told that I would need a cable release in order to keep the shutter open while replacing the back and side cushions, but when the mirror flips up it obstructs those cushions and I'm worried that I'm going to be required to disassemble the camera beyond the level I'm comfortable with in order to do the job. I'm kind of hoping that all the mirror cushions besides the one nearest the front of the mirror box are superfluous and that I need not bother with them beyond scraping off the residue, but finding concrete info for servicing the K2 is difficult as it doesn't seem to be the most common or desired camera in the Pentax K series.
TL;DR Can someone with K2 experience walk me through replacing all the mirror cushions? Thanks a ton.
