Or whatever was in the scotch glass because the beer is half full. The camera glass is dry . . .

Does it flash with the flash submerged into the beer?

It would probably impart an amber color to the light. I suspect Gary Fong is at work!

No chance to get the K-1? Would have been much more interesting to me .

perhaps the K-1 has the A900 sensor inside and the EXIF indicates it as such?

Each time I see this flash construction, I ask myself how reliable this mechanism is (having spent quite some €s on fixing the internal MZ-5N and Z-1P flashes).

But do you know that you can also fire it without extending it?

As long as got beer there, who cares about composition

Interview in AP about Q.
Toshiaki said twice:
"We found out that there were certain consumer groups who are not satisfied by any camera in the market."
How wise and how true
Unfortunately, I don't see how the Q is going to change this

Exactly, those groups all want a Pentax FF.

So to get back into the DOF argument, I have a quick question that yes and no with a brief answer will suffice. Don't really need anymore big long arguments in the subject.

So right now the sensor lens combo is pretty much giving us little depth control right? I'm just curious if slapping a raynox adapter like the DCR150 or 250 which is normally used for macro would help? Now the 150 and 250 are +8. However, a closeup filter can be purchased at +1, +2, +4 intervals. Can't those help with giving us less depth? I know you will lose infinity. Just a thought, I could be completely wrong as I am not thinking it through and haven't had enough playing time with my own filters and lenses to get a good grasp of how it works.

No, but does that make the mechanism more reliable? (The flashes of the MZ-5N and the Z-1P also still worked when opening and holding them manually.)

For 10k€ (compared to about 2k€ for a FF camera).

Maybe not all, but at least for some people belonging to these groups the latter solution would have been much more satisfying and reasonable.

No.

A macro adapter shortens the focal length. It doesn't widen the aperture which is what would influence DoF. And correct, you'll loose infinity (or normal distances) to focus at.

A tele front converter (lile a Raynox 2025) would actually help. But then, the Q has interchangeable lenses and just fitting a tele lens would be the better choice.

I want a FF but the current FF cameras don't satisfy my desire either.

Too bulky and/or too large pixels and/or no in-body SR and/or not enough good/affordable/sealed f/4 lens options (like EF 70-200mm 4.0 L) and/or no hybrid VF with EVF and overlay and/or too slow contrast AF and/or no phase-assisted contrast AF and/or underwhelming ergonomy for video (follow focus, zebra, continous AF, no digital zoom, no power zoom etc.) and/or subsampling in video and/or no digital image buffer in sensors for 1000x DR and silent/fast shutter and/or ...

The funny thing is that such a camera is technically quite feasible. It just lacks a Jobsonian approach in the photo industry ...
