Hi

None of it is quite as bad as Mitsubishi's 4W drive car, (SUV I understand you call it in the USA), which runs under the name of Pajero. They could not sell the car in Spain because there the word Pajero I believe translates as "double u anker". Because the forum rules don't permit the word just replace the "double u" with the letter W.

Greetings

And of course the description " Pentax Q-mount" could take on a completely different meaning. Heaven forbid.

Greetings

Chevrolet Nova. Oops, not in Spanish. No Va = No Go --> no sales.
Some puns are intentional. S-Cargo (escargot) LOOKS like a snail.
Then we have traffic signs. SPEED HUMPS all over AZ & NM. Faster!
Languages have enough double entendres to kill product namers.
Every product can be a punchline somewhere. We have dirty minds.

Nintendo calling their system the Wii didn't hurt sales. It happens...

Honda named a mototcycle the Valkyrie, after the angel of death in Viking legends. Probably not a great marketing decision but they sold pretty good.

Ahh, and new Ford Kuga in Croatia - "kuga" is croatian word for plague.
It's quite a rarity on roads over here...

I've heard somewhere some wishful thinking that the hypothetical APS-C mirrorless mount, being an offspring of the King-mount and the Queen-mount, could be called Prince-mount...

Which would be great, as it's sounding like the french word "pet", meaning... "fart"!!!

And Honda riders?
A the time, a lot of commentators in the motorcycle industry had misgivings about about the name since bikes have a reputation as not being the safest form of transportation. I was quoting from an old review I saw several years back. I don't think the name ever hurt sales and may have had the opposite effect. Bikers kind of have that extreme sport attitude anyhow.

Endoscopy is a rather broad term and can apply, for example, to entry from either end of the, ummmm, thing to be studied. I just hope that there's a way to mark them so any given device is applied, errrr, consistently.

TMI: I did the happy dance to learn on Wednesday that I have a free pass for another five years. It's good to have good insides.
