egregious camera naming blooper, I speak a bit of french myself and I was always curious of how pentax cameras were perceived in western countries.
Flamin' heck, Digitali, you're in Australia! I thought Australia was a western country.

I recall a story, possibly apocryphal, that Rolls Royce had considered Silver Mist for a model name until someone pointed out what "mist" meant in German.

I bought a box of breakfast muesli while doing the campervan thing in France about twenty years ago. It was called "Crapsy Fruit"....

No posts about the successor to the Q - so I suppose Q10 doesn't mean anything controversial in any language...

What I read or understood was that it's a play on words in Japanese ... "Q" is like "9" in Japanese, thus the new version is called "9, 10" ... they marketed some wristwatches playing with this theme ... J

Good to know how to pronounce it. I knew I was pronouncing 'cul de canard' incorrectly.

I remember having seen it (Q10) listed as some vitamine...or proteine...or enzyme...or antioxidant....or something, in the "quack health aisles" in the local drugstore. I think that Q10 is supposed to be good for you (I'd say, Q would be too, but according to what we've learned, that might be tiptoing close to the line of unacceptable content here... )

K-6, in Persian can understand as Priest! Being a non-beliver, I hope The FF Pentax would not be called K-6.
