That butterfly shot is nice, or is it a moth?

The 800mm photos at 2.8MP don't look good. It's probably too long a stretch, esp. with the small effective aperture.

The 100WR photo is nice though

(...)
Not to mention that the M* 67 800mm f/5.6 was designed almost 30 years ago (launched in 1983) and optimized for a "sensor" 137 times bigger than the Q sensor...

hm. good for P&S.

ISO 400 - some odd splotchiness, lack of general sharpness - and that's one of the sharpest lenses you can buy for Pentax.

Q detail looks OK in good light using the standard lens.

From flickr user tomapasto:
Flickr: tomapasto's Photostream

Image seems a SOOC JPG, ISO 400, fill-flash also used

Eye detail at 100% crop:

Process in RAW, apply a bit of USM etc, would scrub up quite well.

Probably Hoya contact lenses there

That pic has been run through Silkypix. Hard to tell what may have been done to it.

ISO 400 is certainly already a lot for the tiny sensor, the difference to ISO 100 is not to be ignored.

In the 2.8MP version on Flickr, sharpness is ok. The photo could be sharpened and contrast improved, esp. if the ISO were lower.

Of course, we don't know the aperture used or what the full 10MP version look like.

There's some quality to this image that I really like. It's one that I've been seeing in a lot of Q images actually. It's a kind of, subtlety to the textures. I dunno what it is exactly, but the tones and exposures from the Q in general seem slightly flat, but at the same time incredibly, I dunno... Just really unique and likeable. It's still way too small for me though, but I love the standard prime. Had a crack with it today in Jessops. I don't like focus-by-wire though, which it felt like the Q had.

I have some pics taken with Q in my blog. Just posted a high ISO sample shot as original and PP version.
