Cleaning Q's IR Filter

While blowing some dust off in the filed I accidentally "spit" onto the IR Filter. Luckily nothing got on the sensor and I had a cleaning cloth to absorb any liquid but there are a few tiny stains on the IR filter. Any recommendation on cleaning the surface? I'm only know how to clean the Sensor, but never cleaned a IR filter before.

I have no idea what you're supposed to do with it, but wiping it with a dry lens cloth worked for mine when I got a fingerprint on it. I used very light pressure so I wouldn't break it, and there hasn't been any ill effect.

Thanks. I went ahead and took my microfiber cloth and cleaned it with a diluted 50% alcohol and purified water mix and very very lightly wet the cloth and wiped it off. It's all clean now!

Is the glass in front of the sensor an IR filter or just a clear glass guard? If its an Ir filter ( which I doubt) how does it filter out daylight bouncing around inside the camera at extreme angles? If it is an IR filter it sure would be easy to mod the Q into an Ir camera. If the piece could be swapped in and out by the user, like a Sigma DSLR, Pentax could sell even more Q's.
thanks
