Cheers Stan, it was the 01 prime. It's the only one I'll ever use, until the wide angle prime comes out that is.
The 01? Wow...I really thought the last one was the fisheye. They are all great shots but the first one is one of my favorite child/pet portraits that I've ever seen.

Well done!

Here are some animal snaps with the Q. I like the Q, it encourages experimentation and the large dof means you can mess around with silly angles and still get what you need in focus. plus it's just always there:
What fun! mmmmm bacon.......

I love the 01 prime myself - was just wondering if it might have been the 03 fisheye since you had such close focus. I haven't even looked at what the MFD is on that lens - will have to check it out tomorrow. Be prepared for some similar shots of a slobbering snout of the 200# Mastiff..........

That shot of Horace is great and I love the processing!

Decided to try and shoot something other than nature, wildlife, and landscapes. Had this idea of tattoos and chains bouncing around in my head for a few days now. Ran it by a co-worker and she was game. Have a couple more shots but thought I'd process this one and toss it up.

I'm curious, how much pp work have you done on these images? Both of them look like they have the potential to have the tones worked harder. Especially if you were shooting RAW.

Pentax Q and 03 FISH-EYE

Hi all -

Just wanted to share some shots I took today while snowshoeing near Aspen, Colorado. These are with the 03 FISH-EYE lens, Reversal Film setting, JPG straight from the camera, no other processing. I've had a hard time focusing this lens, but once I learned about the manual focus assist and focus peaking features, I had much more success. The conditions here were pretty tough for focusing with an LCD screen, but I'm happy with what I got:

I also brought along my Pentax MX with Pentax-M 50mm, f/1.4 lens, loaded with Ilford HP5+. Can't wait to see how those turned out. Got multiple compliments on both the Q and the MX throughout the day!

Very nice photos Kyle!
Even though the last one made me feel a bit queasy, just not used to fish-eyes I guess.
Good to know that you're also shooting film.
Man it's been a long time since I shot a roll of Ilford, or Kodak Tri-X
