This was completely underexposed. It was just right at sunset and I shot at 1/1250 at ISO 125. By the time I switched the shutter speed down the pelican was gone. I did my best to salvage the photo but I think it is pretty impressive using a 200mm lens (1116 35mm equivalent) at sunset.

My biggest enemy is my tripod...or the millions of rocks I was trying to find a flat surface on.

Yes but it was a long work day, I was doing sound for the dance competition.
Will post some shots of the competitors with the K-5 in another thread.

India sounds like a blast. I hope to get there through work some day before I retire. My day job is at a software company.
Did you get any video of the competition?

Nicely done Larry, I will have to search out your other post

Couple more shots from Stuart. Thought I'd share both the color and B&W versions. Let me know which one you prefer.
You have a nice perspective and your shots show it, I still prefer color

Thanks! I'm getting a pretty even split of 50/50 as far as color vs. B&W.

Max Pentax m50 f/1.4 @ f/4 - from RAW

Just to be clear: Max is the dog, and Pentax is the lens.
Looking forward to getting the studio test done on this lens. I'm a bit surprised that it performs this well on the Q - with no CA compensation. Making due with a generic adapter for now.

I did not get video. There were a few folks taping in the audience so I'm sure something will show up on Youtube.
It was the Wilson High School Golden Cup Challenge 2013 if you want to search for any.

Thanks for the praise, crewl1 and Amy - especially from you guys. I have a ways to go on bird shots, though, seeing stuff from both of you.

And Max - who is absolutely crazy & wild much of the time - pretty well knows he's handsome. We still call him Bright Eyes at times - even at age 10+!
