Good stuff! Here is a couple of snaps from today.

I wish the close focusing distance on the 01 was shorter - this is as close as it gets.

Monochrome with a blue tint, that shot displays blurry corners, especially the bottom ones, which I find strange considering you were using the 01 prime? I have never experienced such corner blurriness with it at any focusing distances, even when wide open.

I have noticed this behavior when it is shot at the closest focusing distance, maybe it's just not focusing right or it could be field curvature? it's even shot at f4 so it should have enough DOF to get a flat surface in focus.

Did you spot the whale? :-)

"Whale in the wood": all four extreme corners seem indeed blurry, the bottom left corner slightly more than the bottom right and both bottom corners more than the top ones. Aperture is f/4, shutter speed 1/125s and ISO 125. Normal behaviour at close distance? A decentred copy of Pentax-01 Standard Prime?

Well my copy of the 01 is ever so slightly decentered (blurrier) on the left which I did not notice when testing it in the shop, only sometimes see it in distant objects shots when the camera is focused on infinity, but stopping down to about 4.0-4.5 virtualy eliminates it. I don't see the whale yet, I will keep looking

I see the whale! Love it.

I don't recall seeing blurry corners in my 01 prime, I'll check it out. Did you perhaps run it through a digital filter? Some of those add blur.

A few more recent photos... finally got the fish. I have a lot of work to do to learn how to shoot a fish well!

I'm still loving B&W straight out of camera... And the prime still is by far my best lens. But I'm branching out now.

Playing with old Nikkors...

And I'm starting to get a handle on colors SooC... Here's my "vintage" style film emulation settings:

I need to either tweak WB at time of shot, or work a little on skin tones, though...

I really dig bleach bypass, also:

I have so far totally, utterly failed at recreating Velvia. Any suggestions?

Pentax Q Telefoto Images

Dear all,

I use the Q as a long telefotocamera. Here are some example made with Pentax Q, Novoflex adapter and Pentax K lenses, mostly the DA 300.

Have fun
