Goddammit! I was just getting over the fact that I missed out on a used DFA 100mm WR on B&H and then you show these. Couldn't afford getting both a new lens and the Pentax adapter but was willing to go for the discounted used one but now it's gone.

Anyway...Nice shots.

I really need to learn more on my photo taking early evening and night. Auto, just does't bring out the best.
Lovely shots, they got a cinema feel to them.

That looks cool! How'd you do it?
I had 13s shutter speed, stood still for 11-12s and ran away before the shutter closed. You can see that it's not just two pics together by looking at my hands in front of the tree as they aren't that transparent since theye was less light behind them.

I guess you're happy with the combo?

Great quality in the pics! You're really getting the most out of the Q for portraits.

Nice BC shot.

The UI and functions are almost identical to the K-01. Seems to be the Pentax standard function set for MILCs.
I'm just confused about the fact what i can't use raw+jpg in effects mode.
Because i almost always shoot raw, or raw+jpg with K20D, this confuses me.

But, if i understand it correct, i can just shoot everything in raw and then all any filter in-camera? If i'm lazy for PP work
Besides jpg-only scene modes like HDR\BC.

Also, why when i tried to shoot HDR in low light it switched iso to 3200?
Is there a way to control max iso in HDR mode?

I get this question a lot so I made a quick instructional video of how to get into HDR mode without using the scene selection where ISO is locked.

You can combine filter effects when developing RAW images in camera so potentially you could do much more than just one filter.

Another way of shooting with filters if you are primarily a RAW shooter is to have your normal RAW setting on the * of the knob in front of the camera and then use User setting 1+2+3 for the rest where you can save your favorite filters. I use it for monochrome photography where I have different color filters and bold monochrome setup.

Pushing limits of q!

Huge thanks for video and tips, Zorglub.

Btw, my 02 shows 14.9mm at max, this is ok?

While shooting the breeze with our Subaru Service manager and lead service technician (WRX nut) we got into the usual megapixel discussion about cell phone vs. camera and sensors, blah, blah, blah. I went to the car pulled out the Q(and K-01) and went through a couple of the menu options for the Q, pulled the 02 off and showed him the sensor and then went to the poster option and shot a simple chair. Both were amazed at the simplicity and the cost. It's as much fun showing the capabilities as the shooting, especially for car fans. Nothing special, just a teachable moment.

Just a 5 more. Bold mono is great. I wonder if i can mimic crazy grain like in Daido Moriyamo's works with hi-iso? Should try it.

I made a surprise visit to Disney World last week... what a bizarre place. Unfortunately, the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom completely dominated the little Q, but after quite a bit of PP I was able to come up with this image.

this is pretty much right out of the camera - the only adjustment was I knocked the exposure down a tiny bit in iphoto
