Hi CheepShot,

I'm very impressed!!! The Kestral shot is exceptional. I tried some PP on this file and with a little NR and sharpening, It really looks good, even from the significantly downsized image.

I've yet to get as good results from my Tamron SP 500 f8 and the Q. Looks like I'll have to give it another go soon. . .

Scott

Thanks and good luck! It's probably obvious but, I've found the closer you are the better the shot. The Kestrel's were at the top of the tree, I'd guess 150ft away.

Excellent street shots, not overally gritty.

The first couple IR shots are what I'm used to seeing. The last ones are...surreal, I guess would be the word. Hit J inside Photoshop to get rid of the powerlines in #3 and #5 and they could be from an alien planet!

Here's a couple I came across on the memory card, I think the Q excels at macro as long as the highlights aren't blown. D-FA 100 for both below.

Two images stacked

And one by itself

I really like the dreamlike quality that is present in these shots! Interesting processing!

Oops, I forgot about those pesky power lines. The 3rd and 4th photos I swapped red and blue channels in photoshop. The 5th photo I cross-processed in camera and then tweaked a little in Color Efex Pro. Thanks for the comments.

These are excellent. Do you have exposure details?

Finally got the C-PQ adapter so I was able to try my Q telezoom, the C-mount PH8X8-II 8-48mm F1.0 Canon TV zoom lens. At first I thought it's not that good, but it can produce some "interesting" images. At F1.0 it's very soft but at F2 it's pretty good. Here are some of the first I managed to get from it. If I remember right the apertures were

F1.0

F1.5

F2

F2

F2

F4

Between F1.0 anf F2 the rendering is pretty "artistic" and quite different than my other lenses (in any format). I quite like it. And I'm sure I will use it again.
