Thanks. Just had a faint hope that the infra red blocking filter was particularly weak, and that hand holding would be possible
Unfortunately, not quite week enough. Actually, the waterfall was a hand-held shot but at ISO 400 1/25th sec is about the best I can do in bright day light.

EDIT: I just went to the park again, this time with no tripod. I set the camera to TAv, shutter speed to around 1/80 and f 2. The ISOs were 1250-2000. I did also get some shots with 1/50th @ ISO 800. I'll post the results once I get a good look at them.

Terrific shots Bowdish, esp. the photo of the drummer!

A few taken today while cycling.
Thanks! Great black and white shots I especially like the 2nd and 4th - nice work.

I've been really impressed with the Q, even at 1250. I really like your drummer shot.

I spent Saturday at an aquarium and was surprised at how well the Q performed. I had taken it along mainly because it's so small and lives in my purse. I was planning on taking most of the pictures with the K5, but once I saw the first couple of pictures, took most of them with the Q.

Seeing Sea Shells

Small seahorse

Delicate dragon

Grumpy

I used both the 01 and 06 lenses. I had better results with the 01, it was quite dark and even with f2.8, I ran into problems with camera shake with the longer 06 lens. In any case, I had a great time and was quite pleased with the results. I'm still a very happy camper.
Thanks and I have to say that those aquarium shots rock - never had much luck trying shots like this. I love that seahorse one.

hi there,

here is a little greeny one

these are very small things, but the std 01 did almost all the job pretty well.

Loving my new Q!!

I just got my new Q today and snapped some typical 'desk' photos using the 02 lens (I also got the fisheye). I LOVE IT. The RAW files are outstanding. JPEGs are of expected quality at 100% for this sensor size (the noise is slightly 'mushy'), but still look GREAT.

I processed a few RAW files, and I did this one almost completely extended out. Man...I'm gonna have fun with this camera (and this forum as well!).

Just snapshots for my daughter, who has been capturing lions in front of doorman buildings in New York.

This Lion guards the entrance to my city. I have many more to process - but my developing skills leave something to be desired. This is a processed jpeg. I haven't figured out how to correct the parallax distortion in number 2.

One from yesterday, taken with the 06 lens:

I don't know what it is about dandelions that I am attracted to, but I never tire of taking pictures of their flowers and seed heads. Here's one of a series I took today, using the Q, Pentax Q to K adapter and the Vivitar Series One 105 macro, along with a hoodman loupe to help with focusing outdoors. I think I'm getting the hang of focusing with the macro lens, most of the shots were (more or less) focused where I expected them to be.
