Nice shots, you have a lot of talent!
I feel the Q tends to overexpose if left on its own so I tend to use some negative exposure comp or manually set it to under expose.
High ISO is not its strong point so I use base ISO as much as possible, but if needed the high ISO output can be cleaned some with noise reduction.
Thanks, I should try a negative exposure compensation. At fist I tried to do it, but I could not make this setting fixed as on GRD, and I gave up the idea. On GRD it works very well.

During my recent trip to Japan, I brought along the Q as a street shooting camera.
The large DOF and very fast AF after the firmware update proved it to be a very competent street camera.
Plus its small size, completely silent operation w/ electronic shutter and fast aperture 01 prime, I dare say, its the match as a street camera to any other make.

Midway into the tour, I switched to the Q7.
I'll review that pretty soon.

Nice shots VD - did you add the starbursts on the lights or is that native lens artifacts?

It's been a while since I put anything in this thread I think. So here's one with an R72 filter on the 01 (and varying white balance) and two with my old 36mm YVAR lens.

The YVAR has low contrast (all these shots are processed in rawtherapee), especially when shooting into the sun, but it doesn't flare much.

No fakes here no, just some standard adjustments in Lightroom. Surprisingly good looking bursts?

That's just cute! Wait you didn't leave the Q recording your dog's antics at home?

Funny you asked.....I was going to grab the K-5IIs and DA* 60-250 like I usually do, but Mrs. Stormtech said why not just grab the little Q.

We go on an errand run every other month that takes us past that sign, so the Q was good enough for that. Just thought it was cute also - too bad the chickens weren't out.......

Low light concert shots

One of the anticipated uses of the Q is in concert settings where large cameras are prohibited, but small cameras are not considered a problem if you agree not to shoot video. In this instance, we were in row "O" - so quite a ways from the stage. Using an 85mm Rokinon shot at around f/2.8 at ISO 800-1000 yielded acceptable results - considering the situation.

My 15yo daughter just got back from a 15 day visit to Brazil with her youth group for World Youth Day. I knew she would not use one of our DSLRs, and I would not risk sending her with my X-Pro1..but I thought the Q was just small enough that she might just carry it around and get a few photos.

I coached her a bit before she left about the virtues of manual mode, and AV..and as soon as she got on the plane..she went full AUTO...oh well, what are you going to do.

The little Q with the 01 prime turned out to be a great choice, if it had been bulky or hard to use, she would not have bothered, but instead she did manage a 1000+ clicks on her trip.

Here are a few..

Lens flare accidental, but turned out cool I think.

Very nice. Two things about the last shot. First, I wouldn't have guessed you could get a shot like that with a "normal" perspective prime. Second, what's the deal with the old-time look color shift? Was she using one of the camera filter settings? In any event, very nice shooting.
