The 06 is a hoot to shoot with! I love its incredible reach and constant aperture across the entire zoom range.
Here are some image samples taken with my 06 lens mounted on my Q7. All images were processed in Capture One. Clicking on them will take you to the full size image on Flickr.

This was shot at the Wilbur D. May center in Reno. The center is hosting a Grossology exhibit for kids. I took a few minutes to wander through the permanent collection. There's lots of neat stuff there and I barely scraped the surface of what's on display.
The center offers some natural light but it's still "dark" inside. Shooting wide open is a must. The Q7 and 06 lens had trouble resolving all the little hairs but IQ is still plenty good for a large print.

This was shot at the Houston airport through a window. The sun is about to rise but the horizon is cloudy so the light is muted. I probably should have stopped down to f/3.2 or f/3.5 for a little extra sharpness.

I wanted to get the 06 lens for portraiture work. It offers the best potential for getting some good bokeh. I still have lots to learn on how to use this lens for that. I need to work in the 30-40mm zoom range and I need stand way further back. Practice, practice, practice!
The Q7's sensor is a significant improvement over the unit in the original Q. Dynamic range is wider, saturation and contrast are greater, and noise is lower. It's much easier to make larger prints now. There's still plenty of room for improvement but I am hopeful that the technology will advance. I would really like to see a higher resolution sensor one day to resolve more detail. 12MP is a good start for me but I always crop at least a little bit for printing and composition adjustment. That brings my images down to ~10MP on average.
