Rib festival. Brought the 02, 06, 08. Only ended up using the 02 and 08 with Q7 for these shots because I got distracted eating ribs.

First time I brought my whole kit with me, really appreciate the light weight system as I only had a drawstring bag to carry my stuff.
Looks like a large group of satisfied customers. Such events are great opportunities to do some people watching.

Oh yes, the ribs were great. There were 6 BBQuers present and you can't really go wrong with any one of them.

Im pretty happy with the Q7 IQ, I am considering a second body so I don't have to switch lenses anymore, just gonna wait for a good deal.

As you well know that small Q sensor can run out of steam fast.
So I selected some low light high ISO Q files to see what I could do with them in Photoshop.
All of the following are from ISO 6400-2000 range.

Looks to me that on the Q=S1, at least, you are pretty much at your absolute limit at about ISO 4000 or so and only then if you're lucky.

6400, 5000, 4000, 3200, 2500.......

Wanted to do some macro, but it was a regular walk with the kids (too late for serious macro as it was 10am), I just grabbed a Q7+06 zoom+Hoya +4 close up filter, and a A4 paper as diffuser.
Butterflies were too skittish with the heat and I only had like 10mins, so settled for dragonflies instead.

Outstanding photos!
Could you elaborate how you used the paper as diffusor? Yust in front of the internal Flash?

Rgds,
gerd.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Its just an A4 (white) paper, I tore a hole enough to fit the lens through, poped up the flash and gave a +0.7ev bias to it.
The paper has to be held on a bit of course since its flimsy and not stiff.
A white styrofoam plate, white plastic plate or white wrapping styrofoam paper are better, but it was really a grab and go day for me.
