Super sharp shot CarlJF! Great job showing what the 02 zoom is capable of.

Fantastic photos! That 02 really does a great job. The coloring and sharpness is excellent in both photos!

CarlJF; I agree with barondla; the sharpness in this photo is stunning. You guys are making me considering getting the 02!

Thanks guys! I think the 02 is an underrated lens, probably due to its "kit lens" reputation. I wasn't sure about it myself before I got it, but decided to take a chance because I needed something covering a larger FOV than the 01 and the 08 is just too costly. So far, I'm quite happy with the 02 and it has proved to work great. The only complain I have is about its size, about the same as the 06. I'm wondering how a standard zoom with variable aperture could be almost as large as a constant 2.8 aperture telephoto...

Superb image jalbuke! Color pop and model looks great.

02 is an under appreciated lens.
Thanks

Jalbuke is the 01 lens a manual focus lens? Great shot by the way.

Not manual lens,Trey. It is the standard prime 8.5mm.

Last year we discovered a robin nesting on one of the pillars which supports our porch roof. Apparently she was able to build her nest in just one day, so she had the job done before she discovered that we used the garage door {just behind her} at least twice a day, and the front door {just ahead of her} at least once a day. Every time we used either door, she freaked out. {I was able to take this picture of her from the front door before she freaked out} Other than the door that leads to our back deck, these are the only entrances to the house, so we didn't have the option of not using them while she sat on the nest ... so not surprisingly, her eggs never hatched.

This year I discovered the nest when it was only partly built, so I destroyed it and used duct tape to temporarily box in that area, so she moved to the bush at the garage corner. Apparently being less open made her feel more protected, so she no longer freaked out when we used the doors. Yesterday I was sitting on the porch when I heard some brief "cheeping" as she left the nest, so I went inside for my birding kit, and from the safe {from her perspective} distance of the porch was able to get this picture.

The pictures above were the scene just three days ago. This morning, I saw the following scene:

and when I returned from my regular walk a couple of hours later, the nest appeared to be completely empty.

{remember this the next time someone talks about how rapidly our children seem to grow up}

Terrific portrait, T. Too bad that you lost the rest.
