How does it ride on the road? esp on the climbs?
[off topic for pineholecam]
Difficult to find something better on the road than a Moulton TSR IMHO : The Rolls Royce ^^
The Jetstream P8 is probably one of the best allroad foldable bicycle, the best offroad but not the best on road, because you have only 8 gears, and the sitting position is straight, like a mountain bike.
It has a good gear ratio, so it's able to climb, to go offroad, to overtake a (half)racing bike. I've opened a looong thread here :
DAHON Jetstream P8 (avec des photos dedans) - Forum-velo-pliant.fr
it's in French though ; You'll find a mini-summary on the first page with many links & photos. Feel free to ask any question in English there,[off topic - off]

Nice shot, love the colours in contrast with the blacks.

Cool shots #3 is my favourite. It looks so surreal with the black conifers poking out of a leafless deciduous forest.

I've been out lately trying to get a better feel of the 03 Fish-eye and managed to get this shot of yesterday's sunset.

Original Q + 03 Fish-eye

Thanks makkan. Jpegs OOC.
Have you try to defish ?

pinholecam, I like the subtle "god ray" effect enhancing the silhouette of the gull.

Superb!
These shots put many trying to do this genre with more advanced DSLRs to shame.

OT..

Great info on the Jetstream. Thx

Unfortunately, the Moulton rides exactly like a Rolls Royce.
I prefer functional to flashy (like Pentax vs Leica) and I don't think its the bike for me.
The Jetstream seems to be a modern interpretation of the Moulton (+ more).

Ok. Back to the Q and its usefulness as a bike tour camera.

Nope, so far I haven't felt the need. Might want to venture into that soon though, I really like the 03 Fish-eye.

Love your shots, especially the moon and that arced structure.

Really nice, I especially love the clouds and vibrant blue sky. Did you hit the sweet spot with the horizon in this one, it doesn't seem all that distorted or did you defish it?

Thanks, I just centered the horizon to minimize the distortion, and a little correction in LR.

Hard to answer unless you can specify what disappointed you about the combination in the first place. These things are personal, right? I'm sure almost everybody has spent time with some kind of equipment only to quickly find it's a bad fit for how we personally think and shoot.

I suggest posting samples in a fresh thread (as we've cluttered this one enough) - it could be interesting, especially if you have the EXIF data intact.

I've screwed up too many shots owing to overlooked settings on modern bodies to first presume it's the gear's fault. If many shots are at odds with similar work and reviews posted on-line most often a check of ALL the settings and reference to the manual reveal the primary actuating nut is at fault -- fortunately a cheap and easy DIY fix.

It was all manual..tripod..etc. I'm satisfied with K30 and K-S2 .. an I use even M lenses I just expected too much

the only photo. I have delete raws etc..

There isn't a lot to go on here, with both the EXIF data and color information removed. I was hoping to see whether shake reduction was on (shouldn't have been, if using a tripod), and what the camera thought of the exposure level. Still ...

Maybe so. You have here a composition that doesn't play to the strengths of the camera, whether it should be called "soft" or not. You're looking for subtle background detail across the frame where there isn't a prominent foreground subject, and for that, the more sensor surface, the better. See the discussion about detail in PF's Q7 review.

As the review suggests, The Q7 or Q-S1 would probably give you more satisfaction for this kind of shooting than your original Q did, but neither will give you the quality you are accustomed to from your APS-C bodies.

Excellent results with Blur Control Sluggo. I really must go back and experiment with that again.

Doesn't look horrific to my eyes. Very challenging scene with lots of dynamic range. Your going to get 3 stops less DR on the Q versus something like a K30 or KS2.

Your at F4 which is getting into diffraction territory on this camera (equiv to F22). F2.8 may yield better results.

What was the focal point? Looks decently sharp in the foreground and the corners.
