I rode a motorcycle over 2500 miles to capture the total eclipse in Idaho. I needed a camera that could handle the job and fit in a backpack along with all my other gear. The Pentax Q with the 55-300 zoom via K-mount adapter won the assignment.
Super awesome capture, congrats John!
I had to stay in my area where it only went to like 96% eclipse, and I know that totality is REALLY different. (I saw one in Germany in 1999.)

Dr. Michio Kaku

Prominent physicist and String Theory expert Dr. Michio Kaku visited our little town for the solar eclipse. That evening he gave a presentation about the future. He is a great speaker with a very positive view of where we are headed. If you ever get a chance to attend his presentation, do so.

Didn't want to distract from the presentation so I took the Pentax Q7 with #06 lens. Carried the combo in my pocket and none of the security guards were the wiser. Set Q7 to 1/100, f2.8 and 45mm. ISO1600. Shot Raw. Didn't do any fancy noise reduction. Cropped about 25%.

Thanks for looking

birds

Shot with BORG 55FL on BORG-Canon EOS adapter on EOS-PK adapter (just a handmade macro ring made out of two half-rings) on PK-Q adapter on Q7.

I quickly took a bunch of shots handheld and got this one. I scared the bird when I bring out a tripod and it flew off.

This is a nighthawk, they tend to perch on odd places and stay there for a long time (they're not as skittish as some other birds).

Pentax Q-S1 With objective:: 07 Mount Shield Lens

I bring here a couple of new photos made with Q-S1 and the 07 lens. I was surprised by the resolution of stitching stitches in the old cogin handmade by my Mother, which used in the composition ...
I hope you like it..

In the following image .. I was delighted to have treated the depth of field with the ollives to the left bottom ..

Alayos92 excellent use of the 07 lens! Agree with you about the seam detail in first picture.

Second attempt at posting.

I call this Mondrian in Venice, taken in the backstreets of Burano on (yet another) recent trip to Venice.

Welcome to the Q group Gwailo Ang Mo. Your picture looks great. Like the abstract quality of your image. Which Q and lens did you use? Hope to see more images.

Blur Control with 06

Browsing the craft village at the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival...

Too much DOF, so tried Blur Control. JPEG OOC + Windows Photos "magic wand".

Thanks for the comment. I'm rather pleased with it too!

The image is as taken with no jiggery-pokery from me.

I have only the Q-S1 and used the 01 Standard Prime. I took only that lens on this recent trip to see how I would get on. Venice is relatively easy for me to get to and I've been going there at least once a year since 2005. It is as endlessly fascinating city especially off the beaten track.
