Thanks for your kind words peeps! I really should take the Q out more often.

Here are a few more from a while back - this time with the challenging (but occasionally rewarding) 07 mount shield lens:

Hmm nice, would you consider cross-posting to the adapted lens reference thread? There are two posts about the same lens (?) but your pictures are a great demonstration of close-up ability of this lens.
Adapted lenses tested on the Q : the reference thread - PentaxForums.com[COLOR="Silver"].
Thank you, and I will write a comment of the lens in the adapted lens reference thread.

My Q7 and 06 zoom have received quite a workout this fall. My area of Pennsylvania is in its final days of fall leaf color. These four photos were captured at Blue Spruce County Park, Ernest, Indiana County, PA. Saturation and contrast adjusted in Photoshop.

Quick test of my new-to-me 06 zoom lens on the way to buy a sandwich for lunch. I have photographed Gandhi dozens of times, the statue is my go-to test subject for new lenses, cameras, films etc...

Cross-posted on the people taking photos thread.

Looks pretty sharp. My biggest problem is holding the Q steady enough. I'm used to holding an SLR against my face! I'll get better with practice.

I’ve used the 06 zoom extensively since purchasing my used copy a few months ago. The keys to sharp photos with this lens, keep the aperture wide f3.5 fo 4.5 is the sweet spot and use fast shutter speeds. My Q7 doesn’t show significant sensor noise until past ISO 400 so shots in medium low light at 1/500-1/1000 sec. are easy to obtain. I bright sunlight, I use the built in neutral density filter to keep my aperture at F4-4.5 and shutter speed at 1/1000th-1/2000th at the lowest ISO possible.

One other very important point, use a lens hood. I bought a 40.5mm to 49mm step ring and a metal 49mm standard lens hood for less than $20 US total. The hood really helps avoid contrast loss due to sidelight.
