Behind the Lock by k kwb, on Flickr

This was shot with Q7, Vivitar Series 1 VMC F2.5 macro for Canon FD mount at F/9, and a dedicated Vivitar 1:1 Macro adapter which I think is a 2x teleconverter, therefore combined with the lens it's F/18 in reality (!!).

BTW, this might be a good example of why I don't worry too much about blurring due to diffraction. I like this picture anyway even if this is not THE sharpest picture I can take with my existing lenses in theory.
The Q series is such a GREAT little camera. I wish Pentax would have kept it going, or US would have continued marketing it. With the Mirrorless craze, it really fit right in!

Q7 is my favourite camera for photography of insects due to its handiness. Here one of my photo.

Currently in actual Monthly Contest .

Unfortunately, I see that this is the only photo taken with the Q camera in the entire Contest. Very sad, because it's a great small camera in this use .
Great shot bladawiec, nominated! Q7 and 06 zoom makes a really nice combination that weighs nothing.

I could/should have submitted one too! I haven't taken insect shots using Q7 recently (spider isn't an insect ) but I have some from the past, some of them are in this thread e.g.

Superb image. Looks professional. Think some insects are less frightened by the smallness of the Q.

Yeh, it was a work with what ya' got shot and more showing that the lens works great on the Q in macro. If I was only half as creative as some of the masters on here. I bought an ND1000 filter, it's kinda fun but it would be so much better if the Q wasn't locked at 30 sec exposures. I think it was Barondla that posted a work around for the original Q but, it's only usable in some situations.

Here's a 30 sec shot.

I just realized, I haven't used either my Q or Q7 since last November. Too much time birding. Guess it's time to play around with the Q7 again.

Working with a limitation could be fun sometimes, especially when you end up with a great result like this!

But I do agree, it would be awesome if we can make a longer exposure.

Even 08 lens was not wide enough, so I made a pano stitch. Q7 and 08 zoom at 3.9mm f/4.5, ISO 200, 1/800 sec.

#2 is very cool. The B&W accents the lines perfectly.

Beautiful panoramic. Did you use distortion correction to fix the #01field curvature or was the stitching program able to handle it without help?

Thanks,
barondla
