Very True, I seem to be using the 06 more than 01 or 02.

Yesterday I was casually taking pictures of my friend's daughter performing Indian classical singing on stage. With tricky lighting and the Q7 + 06 produced some spectacular images that even Wowed the PRO Sony Photographer who was shooing with his Sony Alpha 1 camera, but he knew what a Pentax could do and was asking about the tiny camera and little camera package (Q7+01+02+06)

Have been experimenting with an old (free!) lens; the Minolta Rokkor 50 mm F2.8 macro on the original Pentax Q.
Hope to share some of the joy that I've had in photographing a (rather tricky) handheld camera in the beautiful sun in my local forest!

Great macro shots! Something that frustrates me with the Q, is the flash being stuck to 1/13th of a sec with non native lenses...
Autumn sunsets and Q/02/06

Excellent macro images. The presentation with music is also a very nice touch. Lots of work went to this production and it shows.
Thanks for sharing,

For a long time I have had a project in my head. I want to do a series of portraits with the Q7 and my godox lights. I have ordered some Tiffen filters as well as a Godox wireless trigger for Pentax. The goal is to go for a more filmic/retro aesthetic. I have the 01, the 06, and have ordered the 07 as well. Maybe someday I will bite the bullet and track down the 08 but since portraits are my mine interest I think I already have the best lenses for the job unless I want to adapt some glass to the Q7. Do you guys have any recommendations for good low cost C-mount lenses for portraits? I like interesting bokeh that is unique with lots of character.

The Cosmicar 25mm f1.4 television C-mount lens is very nice on a Q7, wide open it has a glow, stopped down it is sharper but still retains a nice bokeh. There are also 50mm f1.4, 75mm f1.4 as well as 50mm f1.8 and 75mm f1.9 lenses in this series, they give similar results but may be a little long for portraits. They were also sold under Ampex, General Electric, Concord and other names, they all have similar appearance to the one in the link. Since they are older lenses, make sure that the focusing is smooth and there is no fungus, they can be difficult to clean and lube. A little oil on the blades won't hurt anything. There are newer Cosmicar C-mount lenses in plastic mounts which may also be suitable for your needs, I haven't tried them.

The 08 is a great lens, but probably not for portraits!

Here is a shot made with the 25mm Cosmicar:

Here is a video with the 25mm on a Q7 with the bold monochrome setting : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qEQ1V6GuQY
Thank you for the recommendations. They were appreciated. I went down a rabbit hole yesterday on eBay looking at c mount lenses and in the end I decided to just stick with what I got. I can use the 01, the 06, and maybe adapt my Pentax 28mm 3.5. I think those lenses will suffice for the time being. I did order a Black Pearl Mist filter in 40.5 filter size as well as a hood for the 01 and a Godox trigger for Pentax. Excited to try out some of my Godox lights with the Q7.

First test using a Pentax compatible Godox wireless trigger. Was quite pleased with the results overall.
