Terrific, Spellcaster!

For my part, noothing special, just a few shots while going home today.
I really like the first shot! As some famous 'tog I forgot about once said "a good street shot is one where you can smell the street".

One with my 4mm CS lens and three with the standard prime.

That CS is, interesting. It almost makes me dizzy.
The last shot is wonderful!

Hi drougge,

I really like that first shot with your 4mm CS lens. I am curious what kind of lens it is and the adapter you used as well. Any information would be great as I would like to get a similar set up. Thank you!

The adapter is made from a third party camera cap (that I made a hole in) and hot glue. The lens is probably the only 4mm CS CCTV lens that looks like that available on ebay.

There are several problems:
  • I didn't get it quite straight. (This can be a good thing too.)
  • The camera cap doesn't mount all that securely. (It doesn't fall off, but it moves.)
  • The lens is fixed at f/1.2.

drougge, the bridge shot is wonderful. Beautiful lighting. You have the Q crackin on night shots.
john m flores, super image of the Q! Puts a smile on the face every time I see it. Sure shows off the size of the Q.
thanks

Great photos Jva59! I especially like the last one. Did you shoot the last one with the HDR option? Very detailed and clean.

Many thanks, MH! I've been meaning to try HDR, but never have. Sharpening and BW conversion were with the aid of NIk software.

I continue to be amazed with what the Q can do. This is just outside the building were I work, and I would never have bothered to take my K 5.

Thanks to those who like my shots. (Even if it makes me feel like I should be better about telling others when their shots are nice.)

Two more shots from the same night, first a crane by Malmö central station.

And then these track tracks I've shot before, a bit wetter and with the camera a bit more to the left this time.

This is my favorite kind of B&W as far as the look is concerned. Very stark, crisp, and contrasty when it comes to the lighting. The train track shot also has cool textures going on.

drougge = Nice B/W pics , how have you set up your dial settings to achieve these shots? I'm still new to Q and finding it the dial set ups a bit difficult to to get to grips with.

Sorry to disappoint, but they didn't look like that out of the camera. I used rawtherapee on both, and on the tracks I did the B/W conversion in gimp (after messing about with the color version in rawtherapee).
