Pink Christmas (sister-in-law's) and Kid's Kaleidoscope. Neither has been retouched except to crop and resized to fit the screen.

Enjoyed the set, looks like you found a new friend with the Q. The shot of the pup and the gravestones is interesting, it looks in mourning.

Good idea to keep busy while the better half shops.

Nice! Sometimes I wish I could pull over and stop on the highway, they have some great vantage points for pictures.

Watch that tripod foot. You will probably be strengthening it soon. The Kiron is a heavy lens and the adapter has an underdesigned tripod foot.
I have one of those adapters on order. How do you recommend strengthening it?

That's the third pink Xmas tree I've seen this year - what gives? I like the kaleidoscope shot, nice job!

Thanks. My daughter was playing with it and I thought - wonder if the Q can shoot down the opening with any fidelity? The kaleidoscope is an inexpensive one so the objects in it aren't the highest quality plus the mirrors are poor as well. It was fun and makes me wonder what it would be like with a higher quality kaleidoscope. As for the pink Christmas tree......no idea but it was odd enough that I took a couple of closeups to see how the turned out.

Get longer screws at hardware store ( if your screws don't fit all the way in the metal of the adapter). Take foot off, JB Weld foot to adapter using longer screws. If looks bother you, paint grayish JB Weld black. You should also consider painting inside of adapter with the flat black paint. This really improves pic quality.
thanks

Thanks for the info. I had already planned on painting the inside with flat black paint. I heard it makes a big improvement.

So with the JB Weld & longer screws would you have any qualms about mounting it to a tripod with a fairly heavy lens like the Tamron SP 60-300?

Don't know how big or heavy the 60-300 is. Heavier than Pentax DA 55-300? The weld will make the joint strong - use liberal amounts. It is still a small foot. I made mine a little better by cutting screws a little long- just enough to put nuts on the bolts. This does mean someting is sticking up a little in the adapter. I hope that doesn't cause problems. Haven't seen any. Who knows. My ultimate would be to felt interior vs paint. Less reflection.
thanks

Oh yeah. Twice as heavy. (870 grams vs. 440 grams on the 55-300.)
