Thanks!

Nope, it was full manual, center weighted metering on the 2H pole, under exposed by 1.5. (I find this camera over exposes a ton!) but I did do quite a bit in Lightroom 4. I modified the contrast slightly. didn't touch the white balance. Used a bit more saturation, took the shadows and pumped them up a bit, took the whites out a bit, and I did some dodge/burn on the pillars to get them to look a bit more 3D. The other photos are right out of the camera though.

Wired I know how you fell.
I think my K5 is going to be so jealous this summer as its not going to get much use. I love the Q too.
Nice photos BTW I like the drums and parking lot the best.
Thanks! The parking lot is my fav of the series too. Your pendant you posted previous to my photos is a pretty cool photo. I am always stunned at how well the Q handles detail.

The Q is such a strange animal. It provokes me to think of photographs differently than my K5 does. That being said i also shoot differently with my MX and K1000 too... but the film cameras just make me plan more than the K5 does. The Q, I plan like I do with the film cameras, but I see things differently too... its strange.

P.S. I have also put these in my "first day with the Q" thread, but wanted to add them to the main photo page.

I feel that that is the very essence of photography, to see the world differently and to share that with others. :-)

The 01 Standard prime is so sharp that I tend to shoot it in Av and wide open all the time...

Very nice shallow DOF on the two middle photos Asahiflex. Looks like spring has started well in the Netherlands, wish I could say the same about Vancouver island I what to try shooting the Q with some sun over head.

Asahiflex: That 01 Prime is amazingly sharp. I'm very impressed as well and pretty much just shoot wide open all the time as well. The smaller sensors DOF also helps with keeping it wide open all the time without getting a lot of out of focus areas. But still enough blur to keep things interesting. Thats a great collection by the way. The leaf on the branch is my favorite.

northislander: Were you guys tricked into spring as well? Here in Edmonton we were sitting at 10 celcius for the last couple of weeks...until yesterday when we just got dumped on!

Not quite straight out of the camera (lol)

A little HDR planet I took yesterday afternoon using the 03 fisheye lens (forgot to switch to manual mode though so exposure is a little uneven). Was first time out with the Q, loved it! More to come soon

Hi Jeeza,

A mere question: Just how do you do these "planet" shots technically?

Regards,
Stephan
