Hi Jeeza,

A mere question: Just how do you do these "planet" shots technically?

That one doesnt really work, those are not full planets.

Look up stereographic projections on google. You need to shoot a full 360x180 degree panorama and use a stereographic projection to render it. I usually use Hugin for my panorama needs

I hate FF just kidding.

Having had the FF Canon 5Dmkll. Having the K5 I really don't know why so many people dismiss the Q as just a point and shoot or not worth the money or the sensor is to small to take good photos. Kind of makes me mad. Im really loving this little camera I think the photos are awesome. I was looking at photos of this same plant taken with the K7 and I would say the Qs are better. Alls I have to do is make some 8X10 prints from the Q and sell them and I can start calling the Q a pro camera.

Here are some using the 02 zoom lens with a cheap Ebay wide-convertor : 2012 Pentax Q Wide Angle - a set on Flickr

Duck and Lizard shots are using a 70-205mm cheap lens attached to the Q using a Q-C mount and then a C-K mount adapter.

Some moon shots with the same 200mm Vivitar lens on a tripod. Post Process work done to clear up contrast and some sharpening. First image is a cropped version, second is full size from Q.

@ bmonki

Awesome photos. Especially the second and third.
Are they made with the prime lens?
Which settings did you use for the second, besides high contrast?

Thanks,
Joerg

thanks... No they were not shot with the prime if they were they would be sharper, the prime is super unreal legit, especially with the OV-F1... The high contrast was shot with SLR Magic and the wine was wide open with the sonnetar, the sonnetar also gets ruthless sharp at f4...

EDIT: the high contrast was shot raw at f4 super high shutter speed as I cant stop down past f4 as sensor stains show up (my own fault I think I let my Q get dirty im sending it in, pentax is gonna clean it for free) and then I converted it in camera with the high contrast filter and that was it really...
