Incamera effect

Planedriver I really like your images. The incamera effect of the bicycle particularly caught my attention. How did you do it? What settings?

I really never know what to say when posting my photos to forums like this. Alls I know is Im very very happy with the Q I don't even use my K5 anymore. The Q with all its noise gives a nice look of its own that I like.

Thanks Bob, it is actually the simplest effect available in the camera-although I discovered it only a few days ago . It's a digital filter called "Posterization"-there are three levels to choose from- and that's it. After that I use the Silkypix software to crop and downsize if nescessary, or adjust exposure a little bit. It's really good looking effect for sure.

northislander: +1 I don't remember when was the last time I used my K5 and K200d. You live in a beautiful part of the world-nice pic.

pinholecam : thank You!

Blythman,

I really like the "light" on the light house with the reflection. Superb!

My humble contribution...

Pictures with Chinese C-mount lenses (all of them, I believe...I must start to keep better order).
shot in RAW + 5MP jpeg with either Fujian 35 mm f1,7 or CCTV 6 mm f1,4 (nice barrel distortion on this...)

#01
Sleepy Cat

#02 - Fujian 35 mm f1,7

#03 - CCTV 6 mm f1,4

#04 - CCTV 6 mm f1,4 - it has about 3 cm minimum focusing distance
Close-Up Circuits

#05 - CCTV 6 mm f1,4 - it has about 3 cm minimum focusing distance
Potted b/w Rubber Tree

#06 - CCTV 6 mm f1,4 - it has about 3 cm minimum focusing distance
Dreamy Pill Box

#07 - Fujian 35 mm f1,7

#08 - CCTV 6 mm f1,4

#09 - CCTV 6 mm f1,4 - this is the one picture that has been tweaked on the computer...
the rest are processed, cropped & so on in camera

#10 - CCTV 6 mm f1,4 - went a bit overboard here with the Posterize filter...
Dunkers Posterized

I'd love your views...

Thanks/Erik

more Q images

Hi folks,

I bought my Q (with 01 lens) on an impulse about a month ago, and I've just been amazed at the quality of the images you can get from this tiny camera. Pentax must have done something right with this backlit sensor. I shoot everything in RAW, and I even printed one of these images at 17x22, just to see how it would fair - it looked great!

I use my K5 and good lenses for "serious" shooting; but, this little thing has been loads of fun.

Not disappointed at all.

Erich_ H, welcome to the Q forums. You have neat shots with the C mount lenses. Looks like you are fond of the 6mm. It does have barrel distortion, and you have used it well. Good start with the Q! You are correct that it is hard to keep track of which adapted lens was used. I miss the "digital secretary" we have with Q lenses.
thanks for sharing

PENFRED, you nailed the capabilities of the Q. Just wish more people would try it before condeming it. It may not be the perfect only camera for some, but it is a great 2nd ( backup) camera. Who said we are limited to one camera? The Q is number 1 for fun.
thanks

Barondla you are the unofficial ambassador of the Pentax Q. I wonder how many of us have been converted through your influence and how many more still to come.
Pentax should compensate you.

By far the most interesting "shots" thread here on Pentaxforums. Such creativity! I must do more with the filters, so far I use the knob at the front for various B&W settings but I must say that planedriver leads the way!

Here is one from last night.
