I was trying out the combo of "Bleach Bypass" and the "High Contrast" filter. It gives a nice tone to late afternoon light. Just an example of the tones...

This was with a Computar 25mm f1.3 lens at around f2.8. I didn't have many keepers as he was moving around so fast and the shutter lag was killing me. Turning off SR helped reduce the shutter lag.

I tried out my Q in low light, ans am impressed.

This is from the Raw file, here is the Jpeg (using Raw + Jpeg) for comparison.

The extra detail you get from using Raw is clear with the Q.

Not bad for an image taken at maximum aperture and at 800ISO, shutter speed was still 1/5th of a second. light was really low.

Testing high ISO - 6400ISO shot handheld across a street with a street light or two for lighting...
Bold Monochrome on front dial. Chinese CCTV C-mount f1,4/25mm at 1/60 sec f4 (or thereabouts).
Coarse grain, but it reminds me of the olden days stepping on TX.

Still not sure if I'm happy with the look.
There's a lot to like with that photo (and the others you've posted.)

Those low light shots came out really nice! I wonder how the Q would stack up against some of the higher-end point and shoots such as the Samsung EX2F, Panasonic LX7, and Canon S110/G15 (not including the RX100). If those shots are anything to go by I think the Q would hold its own quite well. Also, those camera are all currently more expensive and slightly larger than the Q.

The first thing I see is the crop. It seems like they were shot at two different focal lengths.

Either way that is very impressive IQ at iso 800 for such a tiny sensor.

Wow Chris, the raw does seem to make a big difference, maybe I must start shooting mine in RAW as well.

Yeah, the RAW B&W shot looks great! Noticeably better for sure.

Well seen. I am not sure of what to make of this. Shot from Raw+jpg mode?

" I am not sure of what to make of this. Shot from Raw+jpg mode? "

Perhaps the result of distortion correction being applied to the JPG?

That could be me, to reduce them to 1024 X 768 means some of the image is cropped, not by much, but some, the other reason may be in the way Adobe Camera Raw's lens correction profile may be different from that applied in the camera to correct for the 8.5mm barrel distortion, pretty much inevitable on a lens of that focal length i would think.

Not having any noise reduction applied may account for some of the differences (there is a little noise in the Raw image, but you have to pixel peep to see it).

This baby alligator lizard was trying to warm up on a wall of my house.
It is about 4 inches long and seemed annoyed that I kept shoving my DFA100WR in it's face.
The look is 'Sheesh, can't a guy get some shuteye around here !?'
These were handheld, using the high speed continuous shutter to try hopefully to get something in focus.
