Old film-style shots with the Q. I've always been fascinated by vintage film effects. I know it's fake, but sadly I can't afford to buy loads of film right now.

These are all shot with a 6mm f1.4 cctv lens.

Like the first two shots! Also a fan of vintage film effects and filters.

First shot was with the K-5 and DFA100WR, but the next two were once I put the DFA lens on the Q, hand held with the AF540 flash for lighting.

Nice! Really liked how you did the comparison between the K5's output and then the kind of results you can get from the same lens on the Q.

Insane what the Q is capable of!

Another HDR shot on the Q

Great locust shots Crewl1, shots like that make me stop scrolling and look at the pics. Really well done.

Thanks Chris. That HDR shot looks very natural, I like the colors - nice job.

No wonder kids can't sleep on Cristmas Eve - they're probably scared of this guy!

Thanks!

HDR and macro shots are a couple more features of the Q I have yet to try. That grasshopper shot is amazing!

Here's one more old film-style shots. Brings back happy childhood memories

Last Sunday (03/Dec/12) some office mates and I decided to conquer the dormant Mt. Pinatubo. As much as I wanted to bring my Kr, it might become to heavy with a total 16km, 4hrs trek which does not include an almost 1 off road drive! The Q is just perfect for such a trip! Oh how I pity the other hikers with their heavy DSLRs and by the time they reached the summit base, it was their guide that were carrying most of their cameras!

I don't know much about flowers but I did like this one before we went off-roading

I just love how the 01 renders, it is such a quality lens in any format

The first 300 meters of the trek

As far as I remember, this is KM 3.5 just barely half-way to the peak

Mt. Pinatubo crater lake, another 100 steps down

The base of the crater taken by the 04 wide

Another shot with the 04 wide

The 01 lens with the ND filter. The SR helped a lot in taking this handheld shot

A boiling sulfuric stream. You can actually boil an egg in minutes if you wanted to.

Thanks for viewing!

Hi crewl1,

Nice work on the grasshopper with the Q! It looks like the Pentax K to Q adapter will allow us to tap some exceptional potential from the little cam for handheld macro with flash -- I can't wait. . .

Just curious -- what aperture and shutter speed were used?
