Terrific, GTM--the celtic crosses made me think it was Ireland not Iowa. The Q is more than a terrific little gizmo in your hands

Great series - as said before the fog really makes the shots. You make it look easy as I find alternate weather like that sometimes hard to capture correctly - or at least to capture what I was actually seeing.

Hi all, a new Q owner here. I have been having so much fun with the K mount adapter. My current favorite combo is Q + 35mm Ltd. It has a pretty good reach AND can do greater than 1:1 macro without photo stacking a lot of time. The images come out of this combo is superb. Just want to share a few shots here:
Good work, I like the shots with that macro. Add a review to the reference thread when you get a chance.

I see. I never really know how the magnification math works out.
Your shots are super-impressive anyway, 1:1 or not! I wonder how great you can do with the setup and stacking? What rig do you use because don't get close to that with any camera?

Wonderful shots there in the mystic fog. You encourage me to continue forcing myself to use the 02 zoom and not have the 01 prime on all the time.

Wow! You're not kidding! Those look great! That 35 Ltd. is a stunner on the Q.

I wish I could make it to Ireland. I'm a history buff & photo nut, so going to Europe has long been a dream of mine.

Thanks much for the compliments, guys. I know some folks aren't crazy about the Lomo-ization, but I dig it on some stuff.

Terrific photos!
All I could think of was "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison.

<Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home>

I'm definitely going to experiment with stacking later to see how much I can push it.
I didn't use any special rig to take these photos. They were taken on my office desk or dining table. Even the light is just the overhead lights. I used gorilla pod or simply stack random things together to use as a tripod. They were taken in RAW with a little bit of WB fixing and color adjustments. I did find that focus peaking is pretty useless to me. I much prefer the 4x focus assist feature. Often I thought I had things in focus using focus peak, but when I double checked with the 4x assist, it was obvious the focus point was not optimal.

I like the tracks. (In the unlikely case anyone keeps track of me, that shouldn't surprise them much.)

Its gray and rainy today but i thought i'd get a couple 'squirrel test shots' with the 15-45mm at longest focal length. Iso 200, f4 and a touch of sharpening in PS. So far i'd rate image quality at the long end 8.5. More photos later will give me a better idea of its capabilities.

Whoa - really nice. I'm cooped up in Clayton. I don't know what part of St. Louis that is - but I want some, whatever part it is. (Babler? Rockwoods?)

Thanks!
The Sandy Creek covered bridge is down old hwy 21 near Hillsboro, and the fire tower is nearby.
