Many thanks, Hans! Looking at it now I see that I didn't get the horizon right, so I may attempt a little more PP.

Sunny day

First really nice sunny day of the year here. Just out of good luck I had the day booked off work so I went for a walk. Took the Q and 100mmwr with me.

I've been playing with the Q so far as I would a phone...been shooting JPEG with filters or smart effects...I'm having a blast using this little guy. Oh and I'm so glad to be using a camera with Pentax menus - I HATE Olympus' menus!

I looked on Flickr for the shots, nice work.. Use the BB code option to insert them here.

Thanks! Took me a while (I'm a little slow) to figure out the BBCode thing vs. the HTML.

Pentax Q with standard lens. Green fields after the rain.
In the top photo you may just be able to make out an island (left of centre) off the coast near the airport.
Using the Q with a 200mm lens, one is able to get a much closer look at this island.
The third picture is 100% crop of Virgin tail fin at the airport. The insignia is readable from a six mile distance. This is to demonstrate the pulling power of this camera with a 200mm Vivitar 80-200, when the airport is barely visible on the normal lens.

After I acquired my very own Q ( from a very nice forum member) and don't have to borrow my wife's Q anymore I took it outside this afternoon for a test drive. Here are a couple:

01 lens, f:2,2, iso 125, ND on, 1/1250 This is about a 80% crop

This is a bit of melting snow supported by empty seed pots of a lilac bush

01 lens, f:5.6, iso 125, ND on, 1/650, This is about a 50% crop

Well done Heinrich. The first one is exceptional!
