Nice work, I like the smoke behind the incense.
Thanks! Thinking back on it I probably should have lit the matches too.

On another topic...I really need a good Macro lens in my life! The Pentax FA 100mm WR with metal body and focus shift or the Tamron 90mm for $300 less? Also need a tripod foot for my K to Q adapter.

You might want to ask pinholecam for advice. He seems to have it nailed! :-)

Edit: A post with out shots, that won't do.

I'd say that both crewl1 and pinholecam have it nailed.

Lucky sometimes, other times i smash my thumb with the hammer.

I think any macro will work nicely with the Q, especially if it can do 1:1 natively.

I bought the DFA100wr for the k-5 to have a WR kit, but the Q doesn't care about any of that

For me the Q is certainly the best camera to have for macro.

Hi PHC,

Superb Jumping Spider shot!!!

These guys are my favorite macro subjects, and I can't wait until they start coming out around here now that I finally have the Pentax OEM K2Q adapter so I can shoot outdoors handheld with flash. The Q will be an awesome tool for this since it gives me a choice of shooting at the same apparent magnification as my DSLR (subject size in relation to image frame) with greater DOF from the longer working distance or what appears to be a 3.8x magnification boost from the crop factor with the same DOF.

Scott

Thanks, still lots of trying out for me....
I always wonder if a 55mm macro will do better to give more DOF and less camera shake, but those Vivitar 55/2.8 macro always seem to elude me in BnS.

Thanks.
Yes, spiders are just fascinating with their multiple eyes and curious reactions (esp. jumping spiders).
Thanks for the info on the 3.8x magnification too, I always thought it was a straight 5.5x due to crop factor
