Originally posted by crewl1 Hey Tom, it is looking good - I like the white Q/135/gimbal shot. The gimbal will come in handy for the longer work.
Test shots are showing promise.
I'm not familiar with the lens but suggest you test at base ISO 125, then play with the aperture to see how far you can go.
5.6 may be the the best compromise. Does it have a hood?
I did not have a hood on these shots but it was sitting inside the house (shaded) looking out a window. I should have a screw on hood for that, if not I'll make a cardboard hood for the next few days. I guess that 5.6 may be about the best, but I will take some shots with it on the K-30 to test. I tried the DA55-300 earlier, just very hard to manually focus, but I had a setting wrong and may try again. I got my Fotodiox adapter painted tonight. I have some JIS screwdrivers so I dis-assembled the mount and aperture ring, it made it much easier with less masking. I'll take this setup with me to Magee Marsh in a few days, but no pressure on this, I'll be doing most of my shooting with my K-30 and a rented Sigma 50-500, it will arrive by Thursday so I'll give it a good test Thursday evening.
