Fake tilt-shift image with the 50mm.
Very cool... How'd you get that effect?

Nothing special really. Just blurred the top and bottom of the image with a smooth transition towards the sharp parts. This effect works best with sharp cimages with high contrast and nice saturated colors.

Nice pics, guys, they surely show that the Q is a very capable camera in the right hands!

Some today's shots form the Q and Pentax 110 lenses (50 and 70 mm):

More of them on my blog...

Ah... Thought maybe it was the "blur control" feature. Looks great! :-)

Out-gunned

Photo taken with the 01 prime - his one lens weighed 3x more than my Q, 01, 02, fisheye and bag together; but man, that is some seriously sexy glass!

I still haven't found a genuinely good use for the blur control feature. Everything I tried turned out to be pretty ugly and fake looking. So far it just takes up space on the camera.

Really nice pictures. I'm surprised the 110 lenses are actually good (well at least the 50mm). Do you have any k-mount 50mm lenses and an adapter for the Q? I'd like to see some side by side comparisons. I have a 110 with the lenses but I don't have an adapter.

Thanks.
These lenses are pretty good, quite sharp and with nice color rendering. Of course their flare control is well below modern standards and they don't cover an APS-C frame entirely, but I used them with my NEX camera to some (I believe) good results. You can find some full resolution samples here: Index of /nexforum
Of course the vignette is quite strong and the corners are really soft but I must admit I like the results ;-)
Suprisingly, they seem sharper on the NEX camera but I think it's a result of my lack of experience in using the Q with manual lenses and because of the sensor scannig time (1/13th of a second) in the Q. Whenever I manage to hold the camera steadily i get quite sharp pictures from the 110 lenses. The other thing is the FOV one gets with the Q - it's very narrow, so a much shorter exposure time is needed.
Unfortunately I do not own a K-mount 50 mm lens right now but I used to have a copy of SMC Pentax-M 50 mm f/1.7 and it was sharper at f/2.8 than a 50 mm 110 lens. But than again it's not only about sharpness, right? :-) Of course, these lenses cannot replace a regular "50", even only for a lack of diaphragm reason, but they are fun to use with all the mirrorless cameras I have :-)

Wow! I really like that first shot! Great textures and deep tones.
