Great shot! Nice to see there are places where these critters are still roaming wild.

Contrasts.
I really like the combination of multiple repeating geometric shapes in this scene.

Cool shot.
Where on the north island do you live.
I lived in Pt. Mcneill for a bit when I was 14/15. I played hockey for the North Island Eagles.

I've been feeling uninspired recently, but have managed a few shots with the Q.
Very nice Harriet, I really like the closeups, (can't wait to get my 06 back) I want to try some closeup lenses I found at a garage sale. A set of Hoya 55mm +1, +2 & +4 so I ordered a 40.5 to 55 adapter. The arches are also interesting, every time I see something like that it is full of people.

Funny guy! Nice shot!

How are you liking LR5? I'm still on LR4 and love it but have been thinking of upgrading sometime soon.

Thanks! LR5 seems mostly like a more refined LR4- nothing dramatic. It's definitely faster, including backups, the highlight and shadow recovery seem to be improved, and B&W conversion as well. The content-aware fill brush is useful for a lot of things, but for major fill jobs you have to go to CS5/6. Anyway, I haven't had it very long but I like it, seems worth the upgrade. On that shot for instance, the top of the shell was blown out on the right (easy thing to happen with the Q), and I was able to bring it back with the highlight slider (-100%).

I agree, I have a K5iis and K5, but i by no means ignore my Q... it's just a FUN little camera. They each have their place in my style of shooting.
