Love the sunset - were you in Vancouver recently? I passed through the airport twice, but didn't have time to go anywhere else unfortunately. One of these days I'd like to spend more time there.
Thanks! Yes I was there last week.

You want to really see something weird, take a picture of a desk fan with your 03 or an adapted lens. The blades will look disconnected

Havin fun with my Q

Interesting shot of my ceiling fan, the blades are transparent. Flash was on. Q with 02 zoom lens, 1/20th f3.2, 640 ISO.

The effect you are seeing is due to the flash freezing the blades for an instant. at 1/20 you should only see a blurred circle or perhaps no blades at all with the 02, since it has a built in shutter.

Here is ceiling fan using the 03 which does not have a leaf shutter, so the electronic shutter is doing the work.
1/500 f5.6 ISO 6400

but I did manage to get these two today.
I like these a lot Colton. Shadows and reflections, related, different and both really nice. I see them every day and think photos. Good to see your way of meeting them. That first one has many things working really well together, and the reflections are that everyday magic, simple and sweet.

I really like how that came out. I've played around with trailing curtain sync and the K5, but haven't really used a flash at all with the Q. Have to try something like that.

Oh, you mean like this? I took it the day after I got the 03 lens and thought it was really bizarre, and since we were sharing pictures of fans...

It didn't occur to me what caused it.

I finally got my Q and 01 lens! I was so excited after shooting today that I forgot to correct the barrel distortion. I haven't noticed it in the photo, though...

One more from my stroll through the park today. I am going to officially declare the Q a winner (and a great purchase). I'd like to get some kind of case with a belt loop, so I can carry it as often as possible.

The 02 lens won't show this effect since it uses the leaf shutter. (01, 02 ,06)

Only lenses that use the elecronic shutter will show it. (03, 04, 05 and adapted lenses using a generic adapter, not the Pentax adapter)
