Q7+06 Zoom

To be able to go on a photo tour on foot and still be able to have 200mm capability is not to be understated.
Just returned from a trip to Bali and used the Q7+06 zoom as my long reach lens and my A7+Pentax lenses for other stuff.
Very good combo.
Whenever I needed the reach, I'd just pull the Q7 out of the bag.
No fumbling for a lens change while the moment passed me.

Wow, great example pinholecam of what the Q can do...excellent shot!

Neighbor's peony.

Black cat always hanging around.

Barbershop on my block.

One of several classic cars in the neighborhood...not the Thunderbird, not the Mustang...should have looked closer at this one.

Weather so lovely today it was like a memory from childhood. Shots of some randomly selected subjects, including the closest thing to Mayan ruins in the area.

Pentax Q7 again in Bali.
I basically use it as the long reach camera/lens.
Very handy as I did not need to spend time changing lenses, without the weight of a conventional 200mm lens.

In the garden today, I was surprised how close I could get having a cuppa, so went for the Q7 and 06 zoom at 45mm. first shots were F4 and I was so surprised how shallow the depth of fields was and some parts of the bird were out of focus, this one is F8. Blue tit, UK.

I took my Q with the 01 lens with me as I walked our dog after work. The results were much better than what I've achieved with adapted lenses. I get excellent results with adapted lenses on my Sony NEX; the Q, not so much. I went ahead and ordered the 06 zoom from an online source today. It should be here next week.

Hi Tony,

I also have had both NEX and q. My experience is similar to yours. For most non telephoto uses adapted lenses work better with less hassle on the NEX. However, the 01 and 06 on q are surprisingly good and give excellent results. But telephoto adapted lenses on q can be phenomenal.
