Thanks! They're welcome additions to the Q bag.

First try with a new toy. The 10mm Tube works great with the 01 8.5mm prime. AF has locked on nicely.

Wow, awesome results! Somehow I missed these auto tubes. Where'd you get them?

Never mind, googled it. Glad to see that they work well.

I'm going to try them with a reverse ring (q mount). Hopefully, there will be a further increase in magnification. Thanks for the nice comments.

Man the reason why I got the Q7 was that the lens lineup for it is pretty much complete and I can avoid GAS. But you're making one these extension tubes. Hows the AF performance on using these? Are you able to change aperture via camera? thanks.

Will the leaf shutter stay open when reversed? Nice work with that extension tube. Do you have a sample with the 06, the penny you say was done with the 01?

If you remove the lens when the Q is turned on the shutter will stay open so the lens can be reversed. The tubes do look interesting

We had, what in North Carolina, a nice bit of snow last night.
Here are a few quick snaps from this morning.
Hope to take a proper walk around the neighborhood later and take more photos.

This is what it looked like:

This is what it felt like

I haven't tried it with the original Q yet but with the S1 it's great. The Q lenses are fully automatic, the aperture and AF work nicely.

The picture is with an 06 at 30mm (the EXIF is available if you click the picture), I don't remember how many tubes I had on. The 01 works nicely with the smallest tube, the 10mm. Hopefully, I will have time to have some more fun with it today. The reverse ring I have is from q-mount to 52mm. A better setup is probably the Pentax QK adapter with a PK mount reverse ring to retain the leaf shutter.

For me, the best things about these AF rings is better than 1:1 magnification can be reached easily since the camera functions are intact and the rings are small. You don't have to carry anything but the tubes and the Q lenses.
