Originally posted by kwb I first thought "cool, an all-saxophone band!" but the tiny one on the left seems to have a straight body. Is that a saxophone too?
And are you the guy playing the one on the right that looks huge (to me anyway)? Look at the size difference, huge one is probably 3 times as long as the tiny one considering the straight/bent difference!
Say hi to the person who actually took the picture BTW, that person did a great job.
Yup, that's a straight soprano - curved ones are also available. Then there's 4 altos, 3 tenors and 2 baritones, with, as you rightly surmised, me playing the bari at far right. By my calculations it should indeed be about 3.2x as long as the sop, so you're right there, too!
I'll pass on your compliment to my wife, who gets stuck with the Q-S1 on these occasions. She's by no means a natural photographer, the remote was playing up and she couldn't use the gorillapod anyway due to someone sitting in front of her... Just the usual little PP tweaks for ISO 1600 noise, harsh lighting and a bit of a crop needed.
Cute bat, by the way. And having just looked at your flickr page I'm reminded you're the person whose "office building" just happens to be one of the LIGO installations! Way cool...
Cheers
