Sure is, and thanks. Can recommend The Cogwheel Brain by Doron Swade, recounting the history both of Babbage's efforts and the 20th century realisation.

Impressive Abulafia! Amazing images combining so many exposures and post processing. All the work was worth it. Well done.

me playing the bari at far right
Awesome! And as a totally irrelevant aside, just as many older Pentax shooters know Michael Franks for his "how come you always load your Pentax when I'm in the nude" lyric, I imagine a lot of bari sax players know this nugget from David Bromberg.

I went and bought myself a lottery ticket just to change my luck
I thought I wouldn't mind the losing 'cuz it only cost a buck
I won an e-lec-tric toaster and a baritone sax
But I had to pawn my clothes just to pay off the tax

Absolutely wonderful shots! Great astro work, and nice to see it done with such "humble" equipment. And of course all the post processing work you put into it... Thanks for sharing!

Hadn't heard either of those. Might not need too many clothes though, a bari is big enough to cover quite a lot...

It is heartening to see our much maligned and often ignored little Q perform so well. Thanks for sharing!

This is a charming family photo. The mother is lovely but the little girl (your daughter?) seems to be a bit annoyed at the photographer
