Black birds

Q7 with BORG 55FL (tiny 250mm telescope). Probably a courtship display by this male.

Hey girls! by k kwb, on Flickr

Q7 with 06 telephoto zoom. Same species as the above, 5 males and one female. Female has brownish body and black eyes, quite unlike males.

My co-worker was helping a friend's child with a project called "Flat Liam." Flat Liam travels around to different places and has his photo taken at different landmarks representing where he is. Once he is finished visiting, he travels on to a new place, eventually arriving back to his original home, with lots of photos and stories about each place. I couldn't help but take a few photos of Liam while he was visiting today. ;-) Liam's photos were taken with a Pentax Q7 + 01 lens.

In a pinch, the 03 Fisheye doubles as a macro lens.

It was take a Q7 to work day so I took a few pictures of the flowers behind the building. Had to take several exposures as focusing was challenging but I got one acceptable photo. Cropped off a little bit in post but I like it.

The small insect is a feature not a bug...oh, wait. It is a bug, as well.

Perfessor5646 excellent use of fisheye! Beautiful colors. Like the "take Q to work day" idea.

I started experimenting with Pentax Q and my telescope (in fact quite big 500/4.4 mm mirror lens). This is the stack from Registax (7 frames, 1/320s, ISO 400), some post work with Topaz Detail and DXO FilmPack. I have many ideas how to improve this kind of shots, but it is raining since one week.

07 Lens Shield

I’ve started slipping a Q7 + Lens shield in the cargo pocket of my shorts when I foray out on a walk or another project. I think I’m finally getting the hang of it.

1) From the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge, where I go when otherwise uninspired.
2) Across the counters at Con Huevos waiting for a late breakfast.
3) At the Michael Vick/Ocho Cinco football camp.

Great like no2. Was actually contemplating getting the 07 this morning as it’s pretty cheap in uk at £20 at moment...currently on lookout for a q7 or s1 so thought maybe may get one in a used deal..if not think I’ll order it as I have a holiday to Singapore in August..

I see some great photos on your flicker...like the golden retriever pup and white cat looking up/cat at the door... how are you managing the narrow DOF with the q-using the zoom lens 06??
