Short video

Gear - Q, Bigma, RD10, $15 Loupe, Katana gimbal

The Bigma is great for reach but I'm still not happy with diffraction. It is great for video on the Q, and fantastic natively on the K-5.
This shot is with the K-5, cropped.

Yeah, that looks like it would be a winner on the Q. I may pick one up sometime. I have a Pentax A 35-105 that performs pretty well on the Q, albeit with a bit of PF.A little heavy & bulky as a walkaround tele on the Q, though.

Very good! Pentax Scope? Did you use a PF80ED with the Q or a DA*300?
Sorry, meant the RD10 rifle scope

Nice shots Larry, the GBH's are also nesting in Florida, should be getting shots of the little ones soon.

The first round: FA*80-200

Got the adapted for three days.
Today is not a good day to test, cloudy + a few rain drops.
ISO-5000 for the Q
ISO-4000 for the K30

Q + FA*200
straight out of the box

Q + FA*200
heavily sharpen

K30 + FA*200
crop + heavily sharpen

Nice work! The FA*s look great on the Q.
ISO 5000! Mine don't look near as nice at that ISO, awesome.
The FA*200 looks like it might be a better match for the Q than the DA*200.
When you've had some time to comfortable with them post a review on the reference thread.
Look forward to more from these combos.

Played with my monopod mounted Q at a park today, using a Fotodiox adapter with a Pentax M 135/3.5.
All at 640 ISO.

They all came out very nice! I was thinking that 135mm would be a nice focal length on the Q - not too long and not to short. I've been thinking of picking of an M or A 135mm just for this use.

I'll second the M 135/3.5 - a really sharp lens (stop down to 5.6).
It's also really really hard to focus on the fly, but hey that's 740mm eq !!

Yep. I bought an M 135 / 3.5 just for the Q & like you say, stop it down & it's quite a good performer, but focusing & getting jello-less shots can be a bit tricky with that focal length. The Promaster 100 / 3.5 macro is a 560mm equivalent on the Q and is also an excellent long tele on the Q. Plus, it's shorter focal length makes it easier to handhold & focus.

By the way, I tried my DA70 Limited on this setup and it is absolutely fantastic for a tiny 385mm solution. IQ was right up there with the Prime 01

These are some tests I did hand held with Fotodiox adapter:
DA40 LTD - 220mm equivalent
DA70 LTD - 385mm equivalent
Thanks, those are the two 'telephotos' that I plan to use on the Q - how cool! Maybe now and then the Hanimar 400mm will get a chance...

Very nice shots, that 135 is just great on the Q

Another video! Using the Nikkor-P 105mm. I think this is my favorite Q combination yet.
