Thanks!

Shutter speed was 1/500 so I was surprised at the stop action.
I've shot 'em faster, and had more blur.
Impressive hand held shot!

I'm still struggling using my M150 3.5.

Question - are you entering the correct lens length in the SR field, or entering a lesser amount? A couple folks here say with hand held shooting the SR is a little over active. I'm trying to get a handle on the amount I should enter for my M150.

Thanks Stan!

I've tested this myself, and it works better for me.
With the 135, I enter 105.
Not sure what the point of diminishing returns might be, or if there's a sweet spot.

Thanks for the info Bob. I'm just trying to get a handle on a good starting point for the 150mm. Your setting is a factor of x.7777 so that would give me ~117 for my 150. I've been trying setting it at 120 so I guess I'm pretty close for starters.

Off to paint my Fotodiox adapter - should have done that a long time ago. Hopefully that will help me.

Another kind of "reach" (panoramic view stitched from 21 images taken with 02 zoom at 15mm):

Click on the picture to view it full size (warning 71 Mpix image).

Cheers!

That's a great shot and good work on the stitching.

Very nice image, I bet that gave your computer a run for it's money.

I use Autopano Giga 3.0, but there are many other stitching applications around. A good pano head is a relief when the number of images increases; I use the Nodal Ninja 3, which is a great pano head but bit of overkill with the Q. I am presently eying a motorized head, like the Gigapan Epic 100:

Thank you for the kind words, crewl1. The stitching is not perfect, I shall redo it one of these days.

Thank you, CheepShot. Indeed, that's when you do this kind of work that you realize your computer is seriously underpowered!

Cheers!

Here are a couple of samples of the Q + DA*300 compared to the K-5 +DA*300
Q shots are cross posted from 300mm + thread.

It works very well but now DA*300 has spoiled me for other adapted lenses on the Q.

I haven't really tested my newest Sigma 70-200 OS, I am hoping it will be better than my older HSM II version and close to the DA*300 in IQ.

I want to know where your nature preserve is. If I had the lenses and the skill I could never get these shots!

Wonderful!!
