Walking on a nature walk bridge in Punta Gorda I found a Yellow Crowned Night Heron and a sleeping Little Green Heron in some mangroves. Couldn't get a clear shot but managed something. Fotodiox adapter with SMC-M 135 3.5 @ f8 hand held. Also this GBH was posing so I couldn't resist a few shots, same lens.

Hans

I like the shots very much. The vegetation adds to the images, I think. It kind of frames the Yellow Crowned Night Heron. Very nice!

Thanks Jim. At first they would stop moving when I approached but after a while they got used to me.

I posted a time lapse of one of these guys turning into a butterfly in the 'Share your shots with Q' thread if you are interested.

Sigma APO DG 70 - 700 at 230 mm 5,6 (AFAIR), ISO 400, 1/250
Developed in Raw Therapee, 6 frames stacked in Registax, then some local contrast enhacement.
Condistions were not perfect (city, light clouds passing), so I hope there is even some room for improvements.
First image cropped, the second one is 100% crop.

Here's a recent moon shot of mine from the other side of the planet. DA*300 on the Q.
Single shot, simple PP in LR4. It "stacks" up pretty well, even at full screen on my 27" monitor.

Amazing details in the moon shots guys!

I bought an used original adapter from i83N here and boy, the difference is huge! For once I can actually select the aperture in a good way and secndly the built in shutter almost makes the whole world a better place, it's that great.

A handheld shot (ISO1250 looks pretty good to me):

Agreed I also found things better with the OEM adapter over the shutterless adapters, sharper images and I can pan the camera. Here are a few from the zoo today using a SMC F 80-200 zoom All were shot @ 200mm hand held, (no tripods of monopods allowed in the zoo)

Nice shots Hans, the eagle's eye is really sharp. I still think you win the hand held contest

My first attempt at moon shooting with the Q. I used my dad's old Nikkor 70-210 with a DIY tripod mount at 210mm, f22 to grab a series of shots, HDR'd them, then cropped it down.
I need to get a better tripod though. Tried putting the 2x Tele converter on, but was way too hard to get a good target on the moon because the tripod kept shifting... (cheap $30 tripod... )
