I think you have some motion blur going on there post_eos.
Something more solid will be needed to really bring out the best in that lens.
Once you wring it out, submit a review on the reference thread if you can.

I had to place my tripod on the hood of my car to get the camera high enough for me to see the display. Not the most stable mount to say the least! And with the light weight I could still see the display shaking a little even after a ten second delay.

You definitely need a more stable tripod setup, and ideally a remote control to fire the shutter. The Pentax adaptor allows shake reduction to match the focal length of the lens as well, which is handy.

Yeah. I was just trying it out and just wanted to see what I'd get. I'm 6 foot 3 so if the camera's going to be pointed at the sky it's got to be up high I'll find something much better for next time.

As for the shake reduction, it doesn't work in timer or remote shutter mode so that wasn't an option. Believe me I tried that first.

Pardon if this is not the correct thread to ask my question.

I've bought my Q for the sole purpose of using adapted lens with it.
Sold off the prime 01 and bought a Fotodiox adaptor.
Main interest will be the tele effect that adapted lens will bring.
More specifically, aircrafts coming in for landings.

From this thread, seems like Q with adapted lens is only suitable for still life?
Is it hopeless to take picture of anything that moving?

From the screen display the shutter speed is pretty high in the 1/thousands range.
However, all my shots are just blurry at best.
I'm not talking using 300mm lens, but my humble DA 35mm.
So the equivalent is only 196mm.
Handheld no problem.

Any thoughts?

Yes I did.
I do need to key in focal lenght when switching on the Q.

Well I have only used the Q with telephoto lenses so dont do much hand held.
You could try testing the lens on a tripod at a fixed object to see if it works ok when stable.
If it does ok then try handheld at the fixed object.
Along the way you may find that a certain aperture does best with the lens on the Q.
Then try the airplanes again.
It may turn out that it is not a good fit for that application.
I don't shoot moving objects much with the da*300 or other tele photos on the Q because it is difficult to focus and follow.

Nothing Special. Maybe little longer follow before first shot. Slingshots are doomed way before.
And don't trust the image that Q gives you after shot, always watch from playback. Somehow preview is always awful.

Maybe monopod could be handy this time?

Since you have a DA35 I assume you also have a K-mount camera? The more practical comparison is how does the Q compare to your K-mount camera, rather than what is the FOV compared to full frame. The Q's crop is not in itself an advantage; indeed for this kind of work it is mainly a disadvantage. The advantage of the Q is the extreme pixel density of the sensor, about 3x that of the K-5/K-30/K-01. Meaning a 105mm lens on the latter would give you similar resolution to the 35mm on the Q, and would be a much handier rig for shooting moving objects. If your vantage point is close enough, this is what I'd recommend.

For anything moving I would use a LCD hood eyepiece like the one in the link. It helps brace the camera and makes it easier to follow motion and focus

Also, when using a monopod, Pentax recommends disabling shake reduction.

I ordered the Fotodiox adapter, can't wait to try it out. Anyone tried it with a Sigma 70-200 F2.8?
