I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the Q7 being so superior given that the Q10 should have a lot more pixels on target.
Here are the Q first, then the Q7. The differences in magnification are apparent.
Since both are shot at f5.6 on the lens, the Q probably loses some sharpness because diffraction occurs earlier.
The wider pixel pitch on the Q7 lessens diffraction effect and allows a bit more detail to be retained.
They are both straight out of the camera, some PP could be used to improve the Q shot.
I do not usually crop my Q or Q7 shots except for framing/composition, the natural crop from the small sensor is typically more than enough.
I think paired with a good lens either camera will serve it's purpose.
Again I do not have experience with astro photography so your results may vary.
