Thanks for all the suggestions. I like the look of the vintage finders, if the Vf-1 I ordered doesn't pan out I may check out those others. There's a Helios up right now in the UK HELIOS MK2 MULTIFRAME VIEW FINDER UK POST FREE | eBay

I use the Pentax viewfinder and I find it quite nice. Of course it does not communicate with the body at all but it does provide you with a very nice optical view of the 50mm (or 47mm) framing in front of you. It is very handy for framing different views without turning the camera on to see if you will like them or not.

I received the OlympusVF-1 and find it does not fit the hotshoe easily, it seems to be either too thick or too wide.
It takes an extraordinary amount of effort to barely insert the viewfinder part way, so it is going back.
It's too bad, because it has a wonderful perspective that matches the 02 zoom perfectly.

I subsequently won an auction for a Tele-Wide viewfinder and I really lke it. The field of view of the 'Wide' brightline is a perfect match for the 01 prime , and the 'Tele' brightline matches the 02 at max zoom.
I like the small size and old school look of the Tele-Wide.
It will be a good tool outdoors in bright light when the lcd can't be read.

Thats a shame-looks like a good option, do you think a bit of dremel action could fix it?

The Olympus VF-1 fit could definitely be addressed with a little effort as the foot is plastic.

I'm inclined to return it for credit rather than modify it as the Tele-Wide will do and it is smaller.

If you are interested in buying it from me before I send it back send me a PM ASAP.

Just placed an order for an old Tele-Wide finder off ebay myself... $40 sure beats the $250+ price tag on the Pentax one.

Sorry in advance if this is a faux pas by reopening an old thread...

I wanted to try an optical viewfinder for the Q and found the majority of options a bit expensive for my budget till this little 40mm equiv came along.

It cost me just USD 14! Cheap and cheerful.

Edit link added for eBay and ToaBoa below:
eBay https://m.ebay.com/itm/40mm-Optical-Viewfinder-For-Sigma-VF-21-DP2s-DP2-DP2x....c100935.m2460

I bought from here on ToaBoa if you can for a better deal
