Got mine in just now, first impressions so far, havent looked at IQ but but the focus ring is so stiff but yet so smooth at 1.1 I dont even have to use manual focus assist to get a perfect focus... And the build quality is insane, makes the Q lenses feel like shit, reminds me of a mini voigtlander or zeiss...

Received mine today as well. I've already contacted the seller, and it's going back for a replacement.

There is a marking behind the front lens element and at least 3-4 dust spots in the lens. Unacceptable for a $650 'new' lens. The marking behind the front element is pretty significant, and not simply a dust spot.

Ouch but on a positive note the seller is good with post sales, i won't be able to check mine till Monday. I hope your replacement is up to the reputation of MS Optical R&D

That sucks, mine has some micro dust in it but figured it was hand assembled in that wreck of a workspace, but it has no effect on the image... Other than that its immaculate and so far im loving it and its awesome focus ring.

On a positive note the seller is responsive and reasonable. So i'll be getting a replacement next week.

Lens spot

Normally, I wouldn't care too much about a dust spot here and there, but the marking in my lens is quite substantial. It' also has some depth in the z axis, which you can see looking at an angle in the second pic.

In any case, I'm getting a replacement, but thought I would share. Sorry for the poor snap.

Thanks for posting the photos, dust i have no problems i expect that from hand-built stuff (little amounts not lots) but the scratch on the inside shouldn't have been sent out because those elements are not cheap.

ah man that sucks I'd send that back too thats bullshit... Prolly happened when boxing it up, because if it was hand assembled I dont see how that can be missed...

On a lighter note, today was supposed to rain but the sun came out, going out to the city to spend a day shooting with the lens, pictures will be up tonight review sometime next week...

It's already on its way back. The seller's response was excellent and the replacement will be shipped out tomorrow. My Q hasn't arrived yet, so it could be much worse.

Looks like they pulled one from the second batch as it's showing 1sold 1 left where there were 2 left before. Hope all is well on copy#2.

@bmonki, can't wait to see the samples from you.

Yeah that should be my replacement. I'm not too concerned about #2, and the seller has been great to deal with.
